Hello readers! Thanks for taking some time to meet me!
I’m Ashly Locklin, an Instructional Coach for a statewide K-12 cyber school in Pennsylvania. Along with five other Instructional Coaches, I deliver professional development trainings to 400+ teachers in our school. This year, I’ll be coaching 60 teachers from Kindergarten, 8th, 9th, and 10th grade. Whew it’s going to be a whirlwind year, but I’ll share my journey here so we can laugh, cry, and cheer together!

I should also mention that I’m a doctoral student at Duquesne University, a third of the way through the Professional Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Social Justice program.My research focuses on identifying best practices is K-12 online learning. In my free time:
I read…a lot! So much so, that my husband actually tends to get irritated by my tendency to get utterly lost in the words on a page and completely ignore the realities of life buzzing around me (fiction and nonfiction alike).
I do, however, spend a lot of time with my husband, who is my soulmate, best friend, and behind-the-scenes designer. Luckily, he teaches me new tech and design tips every.single.day. Seriously, he’s crazy creative, I’m kinda jealous.
When we aren’t working on sprucing up my trainings and proofreading my dissertation, we travel. Traveling allows me to see the big picture, to truly savor the human experience. To immerse yourself in another culture is unlike anything else. We’ve been to 10+ countries in Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean in just the past few years. I’ll share more about how we afford and plan these adventures another time (I’ll even invite you over to our travel blog for specific details on traveling on a budget.)
